Banner of Glory will be offered for free, exclusively to G2A customers who purchase a copy of Titans. Backers who already bought the game will receive the expansion as a gift.
G2A.COM, the world’s largest digital marketplace for gamers and geeks, teamed up with Go On Board, the creators of Titans, to support the game’s development by launching an exclusive expansion on G2A Marketplace.
Banner of Glory, initially available through a limited Kickstarter campaign, will now be offered for free and exclusively to G2A users with the purchase of a new copy of Titans.
Titans, a territory control-based board game set in a fantasy take on a 17th century Europe, allows up to 5 players to assume the role of a king who leads their army into battle, aided by a mythical titan. It revolves around a unique, yet simple order card mechanic where players use a shared deck of ‘order cards’ which allows them to recruit units, awake their nation’s power and move their armies across the board. The game offers several factions based on some of the greatest European empires to choose from: Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Russia, Sweden, and the Ottoman and Holy Roman empires.
Aiming to make Titans even more replayable, the Banner of Glory expansion introduces new mechanics to the game, including:
- 10 cardboard banners (2 for each nation)
- Tile with a summary of the rules regarding banners
- Rulebook translated into all languages in which the game will be published
The role of the banners is to “pour hope into soldiers’ hearts“ and raise the morale of the fighters. Each player gets two banners that can be added to one of their armies.
Commenting, Renata Zajdel, G2A’s Board Games Category Manager, said: “We love Titans, and are thrilled that we can make it bigger and even more amazing by partnering with Go On Board and funding Banner of Glory. Even though it will be available only on G2A.COM, we decided to give the expansion for free to the entire community that backed Titans on all crowdfunding platforms.”
Commenting, Łukasz Woźniak, the co–founder of Go On Board, which owns the Titans franchise, said: “Collaboration with G2A on Titans was very pleasant for me because they trust our ideas and allow us to coordinate the project, while having a direct influence on the game. This isn’t only a sales or promotional campaign, it is also an exclusive expansion to the base game. Situations where backers receive additional content right after the crowdfunding campaign ended are few and far between, and this is the case here. Banner of Glory was one of the ideas we came up with during the development of the game, so it’s a great moment to implement it now.”
With the global board game market set to rise to $8.12 billion by 20211, G2A‘s data shows that 77% of the users of the global gaming marketplace have purchased a tabletop game in the past 12 months. Specialising in the resale of gaming products and keys, G2A is currently entering the board game market, opening opportunities for both developers and users.
Renata Zajdel puts it in different words, though: “We just had to introduce the tabletop category to our users. First, we’re here for gamers, both those who love video games and those who prefer analog entertainment. Second – board games are simply awesome!”
The exclusive Titans’ Banner of Glory offer will be available through G2A Marketplace across all territories by the end of 2020.
